Not near pictures at the moment, but I have white perimeter cabinets topped with soapstone, and a dark-stained island (think boot polish brown) topped with white marble. The marble slab has streaks of grey and streaks of brown running through it, so it coordinates both with the black of the soapstone and the brown stain on the island. I think it's beautiful, of course! I'll try to post pictures this weekend ... Traveling right now.

Soft White perimeter cabinets w/ dark stained cherry island. Midora gold granite on all -- looks fabulous. Bar area I put black onx granite on cherry wood but I dont like the dark granite as much however I wanted this area to not be so "matchy" w/ rest of kitchen. Think of making your kitchen look like living space vs. KITCHEN.

I have white perimeter cabinets topped with soapstone also, and a dark-stained island- knotty alder with blackstone glaze topped with soapstone. I was also worried about the dark island and dark counterop but I love how it turned out.

All your kitchens are so pretty I could cry!

My cabinets will be the same colors and I've spent the past week looking for a great island slab with no luck. Everything I've liked has either been sold (with no sticker telling me not to fall in love) or too small. Back to the yards tomorrow, looking at marble!

I am in HEAVEN looking at your beautiful kitchen photos! I have total peace of mind now with an actual visualation of what I am going to do.

For those of you with the white cabs, what color is your trim throughout the rest of the house? We had considered a frosted maple eggshell color with a plantation brown glaze. But i'm afraid it will clash too much with the bright white. What do you think?
