No one told me about Soapstone

How come no one mentioned that I would get a workout oiling my soapstone?! I am about 1/2 way through with the first oiling and I needed a break! I feel like a wimp. The first oiling is the most work right? I am loving the outcome though!

Beautiful!

I wanted a different look for my kitchen, but I'm trying to drop hints with my sister-in-law that it's time to get moving on the kitchen remodel she's been talking about for years. Her kitchen is screaming for new white cabs and soapstone countertops just like yours! (Does that qualify me for TKO?)

Be sure and stretch before moving on to the other side! :-P

SIGH....I love your counters. Oiling them is a workout? I thought it was waxing that's a workout. Please don't burst my bubble. Rest those arms and have a glass of wine, then repeat. The counters are looking sooooo beautiful.

I use walnut oil with beeswax and it is a breeze to do the soapstone.

The soapstone is Minas from Dorado in Shrewsbury MA. The cabinets are from Kingswood Cabinetry out of CT. I really like the cabinets, but I am waiting for the hardware so that I can actually open them. They are 1" doors which are nice and beefy looking. Only thing is that I had to send a few doors back because of finish issues. They fixed all though with no problem...

Thanks! I finished oiling, the transformation is amazing! It looks like someone came in and painted our countertops! I hope to be able to post finished kitchen pictures before the holidays are over!
