statuary carrara marble is the most expensive carrara marble because is the most homogeny white and not gray. matching with pietra cardosa it will be a very nice combination.

It will be beautiful! I have a white venatino marble tile backsplash. The marble is white with only a few distinct grey veins vs the webby gray that carrara usually has. My tile is honed and sealed with Miraclee 511 Impregnator and I have no issues with staining.

A few pictures for you:

I have statuary bricks from a quarry in Alabama. The veining is not as dark as alku's and the color of the tile ranges from white to pale gray. Some of them also have a bit of tan. I have honed charcoal counters with wisps of white and the statuary looks great with the counter. Not that I'm biased or anything.

Here's some pics of my almost finished kitchen. We still need to do some painting, add light rails and change out the hinges. The pictures have some weird reflections but they are pretty representative of the look of the tile.

Dee what is "honed charcoal counters" is it a marble ? I can't really see the counter from your pictures except that it's dark and very nice.

wow, I'm impressed and I love them; thanks for the closeup, it reminds me of soapstone. I'm aiming to do statuary backsplash but the counter is puzzling me as far as easier maintenance goes. I'll research this granite some more, there must be info on it.

alku05--your backsplash is gorgeous! I am looking to do something like that in my new kitchen. My concern is staining from grease, spills, etc.--especially behind the stove. Do you have any problems with this? Also, what exactly is the style/material of this backsplash and where did you purchase it? Thank you in advance for your assistance on this!!!

I am really interested in using statuary subway tile backsplash in kitchen. It is gorgeous. Do you know the average price per sq. foot and also I am interested in knowing how it holds up with grease and staining behind range (under hood). Thank you!
