Lower Cost Alternatives to Costa Esmeralda???

Posted by pbear_2007 (My Page) on

I was hoping to get Costa Esmeralda for my countertops, but it's going to be too expensive for my budget.

Could anyone suggest some lower-priced alternatives? My cabinets will be an ivory/creamy white.

I love the calm, subtle movement of CE; and the colors and veining of the slabs I've seen are just gorgeous. I'm not particularly drawn to the giallo's or those with a coarser pattern (not sure if that's the correct term). I was told I should just really love, love the stone I select, and so far, Costa Esmeralda is the only one I really love!

I'm open to other colors.

Thanks for any suggestions. Pictures would help also.

Thanks so much!

How about Coast Green or Typhoon Bordeaux?

I have Coast Green, I went with it because at the time the CE coming out was awful, full of black areas. I have found it to be indestructible, doesn't stain, etc., etc.

The link below has literally thousands of granite slab photos along with information about each stone. I like the way it's organized and have found it to be extremely helpful in the past, Maybe it can help you narrow down some alteratives too. And yes, you should absolutely love love love your slab and you should in no way just settle. However, that means allowing yourself to be open minded to the options; and that can be hard to do if you're already committed to one stone in particular. Good luck!

Here is a link that might be useful: Granite pics
