What size sink for a 36" base?

Posted by peridot44 (My Page) on

I'd like the largest possible sink in my 36" base. The Kraus KHU100-32 is the biggest undermount I can find in my price range. It's 32" inches across. Do you think it will fit? Or should I go with a 30"?

Thanks.

We put in a 30". We did ask our KD whether it would be possible to install a 33" (next size up), and he told us it was possible (the cabinet would have needed to be "notched out" or modified, but not a really big deal). We opted to stick with the 30" as planned, but we got the impression that either size would have been okay.

We put a 30" Julien sink in a 33" sink base and it is fine.

I have that very sink in a 36" base. You will have no issues. It is tall, so you will more likely have issues under it, such as if you're using a garbage disposal.

It is definitely tight under there. We got the sink, a 1 hp insinkerator and an instant hot water tank. There is no room for anything else. Even if you go with a sink that leaves more room, I suggest that you run your plan by your plumber to make sure that everything will fit.
