I prefer the Silgranite BlancoDiamond's corner drain. Not only for the reason you mentioned--more room underneath --but because you can lay down roasting pans and other large pots and pans to soak, and not cover the drain.

I've got an offset drain just because that's the only sink I could find at the time. Now, having used it for years, I wouldn't have it any other way. The drain is way over in the left-hand corner and it gives me the most of the sink to do prep work, stack and rinse, soak big pans, etc.. Genius idea.

My dishwasher is on the left and it appears that Blanco only sells the diamond model with the drain on the right. Will this be an issue? Ideally, I would like to have the drain and garbage disposal close to the side of the dishwasher to avoid power cords and water lines from coming across the opposite side of the cabinet and taking up space.

If this is the sink you really want, is it possible to reverse your sink cabinet and DW in the plans?

My DW is on the left and drain in the Diamond on the right. I never would have thought of that being any kind of issue.

Mine is to the left off center and I love my big single sink !

Love my Krauss single bowl sink. Would never go back to a double sink.

I have (in the shipping box, waiting for kitchen to be ready for it) this one. It's an Elkay, stainless undermount, left, rear drain. Edited to add- I chose offset largely so that I could fit an trash pullout under (one side of) the sink. I chose left (my model comes in left/right or center) because I'm left handed & figured I'd be likely to be holding trash in my left hand, and my right hand would be free to open the pullout on the right.
