Another corner cab question

AvatarWalt

There've been some good corner cabinet discussions lately, with opinions including that it can be more efficient to have a blind/empty corner with drawers on either side than to use a super-susan or a pull-out, and also that a door in another room can make use of the space.

My question is whether anyone's "another room" has been outside. We'll likely have a corner on a wall that adjoins the deck, under a good overhang, and a small cabinet for garden gloves, trowels, pruners and the like would be handy, but I don't want to open a can of worms (perhaps literally) with moisture, cold, and draft problems in a Pacific Northwest climate. While it makes sense from a use-of-space standpoint, is this a bad idea otherwise, or can problems be reliably mitigated?
