Grooup A's from a local fabricator are usually cheaper. With no shiipping charges. And without the numerous seams.

We originally wanted to do a granite tile counter due to the cost savings. Checked out prices for Benissimo and another modular system but found there wasn't much cost savings compared to granite slabs. Real cost savings come from DIY granite or porcelain tiles.

Unfortunately I'm located in a very rural area, if I want slab it's going to have to be shipped a loooong way and someone with little experience will have to install it. :(

Uh, No. Like anything there are inferior products sold by low ball providers. Countertop materials (all countertop materials) are no exception. Perhaps you have this opinion because you make your living fixing low ball work.

I wouldn't say granite is cheap at all!!! Even though it is less than it used to be, we are talking thousands of dollars for 80 square feet which is what I have. My fabricators are not discounting around here. I have granite coming this month and I have shopped around for the best price but figured out that they are all about the same at least here in GA. A good fabricator is worth their weight in gold.
