Replacing bar faucet with a pull down kitche faucet

Originally on the kitchen center granite top a so called bar faucet was installed - same or similar to Price Pfister G171-4000. I wish to replace it with a pull down kitchen faucet (Delta 999-DST).
First: how to remove the bar faucet? How did they install it, I don't know, there is practically no way to get to the underneath nuts. I was thinking to destroy the bar faucet from the top and rip it out upwards. But how? The Delta 998-DST installs from the top fortunately.
Second: What is the size of the hole in the granite for the existing bar faucet? Do I need to enlarge it? Delta needs 1 3/8" which is standard.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
