| Curious which layout is better? I have attached a photo of my 12x8 kitchen. I already partially removed a wall between the kitchen and dining room, as you can see on the rendered image to the right.
I am debating a small island, but only a 36"cabinet will fit, max. This leaves a total of 36" on either side for passage, and the counter depth fridge on the right (which has room to open w/ someone standing within the 36". (given the Open Concept design). The current layout is that to the right. Which is better for me? Images are to scale. |

| Once you factor an 1" or more for counter overhang your down to between 33"-34"... kinda narrow. As much as I love islands in a kitchen; I think the one rendered might be small to be particularly functional and may end up more of a dumping ground then anything else. |
