You can definitely mix metals in the sink area. I'd feel very confident going with either choice. If you get an ORB would you go with a living finish (which will wear where you handle it most) or a sealed finish. The light cream sink will probably be more of an attention grabber if you have a nice sink area you'd like to highlight.

A light cream sink would be very pretty, but stainless may be easier to keep clean. If I did an ORB faucet, I'd probably have it sealed. So excited to see you making all these decisions...your house is going to be wonderful! :)

what is the counter top laminate?

it sounds like the cream sink would look good with it and put a 'light' break in it. SS would go fine. I'm going to try to go SS - I think it'll be easy to clean w/out the worries of losing the finish on it.

Desertsteph, the color of the laminate that I "think" I will use is Formica Jamocha Granite Matt finish. I think it will look good with pearl painted cabinets...although I keep seeing others who have chosen lighter counter tops, and I like them also.

Lavender lass..it is always so kind of you to respond to my posts...that is why I always keep checking in at SH to see what you are doing. When do you hope to start your build?

I still did not decide what to do about a sink and faucet...but something will spur me to make a decision one way or the other....but I need to decide on the faucet, so I can pick a sink with the proper holes, or a sink so I know which kind of faucet to get..... Oh the decisions to be made.

So I appreciate all of the help I can get....building at my age without my DH, is not for the faint of heart!

I am thinking the light sink and the ORB would look nice - but can you post a color board to help.
One thing that helped me decide on the faucet and cabinet hardware - Someone thought my faucet would feel lonely as the only item in antique brass. I was debating between AB handles and SS/nickel handles at the time.
