First time updating a 25 year old kitchen here! I am struggling with granite selection because of a rather strong floor that i rather not have to redo. It's teracotta color tile. And i think my light maple honey cabinet picked up some of that pink color and reflect onto the cabinet color.

I'm leaning toward a light granite for the flushed look, rather than the dark granite contrast.

Would something like typhoon bordeaux be too red? Sienna bordeaux ?

The ugly small kitchen below is my kitchen and I'm considering something like the nicer picture here.

I'm also struggling with the backsplash, my dh does not want granite backsplash, rather he wants tile. We want to keep it simple like subway tiles in cream or whatever color scheme work with granite we pick?

Any suggestions?
