Marble vent hood

I week or two ago someone was inquiring about the feasibility of a vent hood cover in marble.
This popped up on Cultivate.com today, and interestingly enough, the vent hood cover is plaster, probably with faux painting.

Here is a link that might be useful: Cultivate.com

RE: Marble vent hood

Thank you Marji! How great that you thought of me and continued to look for this. That one does look like it was faux painted.

The engineering of putting up real marble is what has probably prevented others from executing on this idea. Each slab weighs about 700 pounds. Luckily I had to re-build the whole kitchen so can put in steel reinforcements in the wall to support this.

If you see anything new that pops up, keep posting. THANK YOU!!
