I'm just curious why you're aligning it the way you are? It seems like you'd have to stand at the end of the island to use it?

I'm not sure how much give you'll have considering the size of the sink and assuming you'll have a cabinet slightly wider than the actual sink.

Ours is on the end of a range top run. The sink is 14"x17" and the cabinet is 18 1/2" wide. There are 4" of counter to the left and to the bottom of the sink.

Food goes from cold storage, to water, to fire. You need a minimum decent landing space (12") to either side of the water. If you want to have multiple preppers, you want prep space (36") to either side of the sink. That's why you see so many prep sinks in the middle of the island. If you want it at the edge, pull it back at least 12" from the edge.

Can you post your kitchen plans with the island placement here? I know you have the kitchen wall posted on another thread but it helps with sink-placement suggestions if we see how the placement will interact with traffic patterns and the other appliance placements.

Maybe also give us an idea as to where you plan on doing your prep. I think you have mentioned it will be on the island and yes put a trash pull-out beside your prep sink. I think you asked that question on another thread.
