Sources of spice jars & spices on-line?

There was a recommendation a while back for a good source for small (4 oz.?) glass spice jars & a place to buy loose spices on-line. Anyone have that information? Thanks!

penzeys is good.. where do you live?? might be able to go to penzeys instead of buying online

my son in law loves to buy from thespicehouse.com, has had great luck with them.

I'm a Penzey's shopper too.

I like the bottles from World Market for spices. They are slightly shorter than the ones from Penzey's and fit in my drawers.
My suggestion is that you measure carefully you would hate to buy bottles that don't fit.

Savory Spice Shop is one of my favorites. They are based in Colorado and the spices are fresh and they carry so many different types. I have a local Penzeys and I find the quality of Savory Spice Shop better and fresher. I use metal tins and I purchased mine from Muji at MOMA in NYC but they no longer make them. I have seen similar ones online. They are airtight and can be reused easily.

I'm interested in this topic, too, as I want a magnetized sheet for spices in my pantry. I started looking around and even ventured into Ikea for the first time in my life recently. Was shocked by how many of their items were made in China. I'm leery of food-related items made in China, so Ikea may be one to avoid or to check into with great caution.

I agree beachbum. World market has great jars, good prices and I like that the lids are hinged. We had a bridal shower for a friend and used the clear glass ones as a budd vase for a single cream rose and then the guests took the jars home as a "favor". It was a beautiful addition to the table setting.

I have ordered several times from Monterey Bay Spice Company. I have always been satisfied with the prices and quality. I believe they also sell jars.
