A Nice Surprise

We had custom Shaker counter stools made for our new kitchen. DH came home with a package sent from the woodworker who crafted them. He said it was his Kitchenwarming Gift to us. I opened it to find a beautiful 11" x17 curved cutting board made of Curly Maple, Bird's Eye Maple & Walnut. He included a hand written card of a family recipe. I was in tears.

I know, I know.. You want a picture. I promise that while I am marooned here at the lake I will finally take time to learn how to take a picture and embed it in a post ;)

Barbecued Meatballs - Serves 12

Looks like a good one. I'll give it a try on a weekend the grands visit (big meatball fans) & if it passes muster, I'll post it.

Heard a jiggle in the package when I was putting it away and discovered a hand carved knife & cheese spreader were also sent. Better than Christmas!
