| Ordered granite countertops. Went to warehouse when they laid out the template and was explained that there would be one seam in the L shape. I completely understand. Just got a call that said another seam is needed because of the size of the undermount sink. She said it may crack. How would a large sink impact if another seam was needed or not? It is 32" wide which isnt abnormal. The cabinets are supporting the sink and base sink cab is 36" wide. The woman didnt know and is having the fabricator call me. Help me to understand why another seam would be needed on the opposite side of the L from the original seam. It is not a large L and the slab is definitely large enough (I was there when the fabricator laid it out). |

| Sareep, I personally do not even understand the need for a seam in the L piece, unless it is a really big piece. I had one single seam in the kitchen and I had a big L shaped piece- the seam was located in the middle of the sink area, barely visible and only from up close. The granite was a beautifully speckled, very fragile Brazilian , but they did a fantastic job setting it on a cement bed and reinforced with a steel mesh. It was flawless work and the result was great. Even without the cement and the steel , they still should be able to give you the minimum amount of seam possible, I would not accept the seam in the L shaped part, and I would definitely raise a BIG stink for the second seam. Absolutely unacceptable, in my opinion. Hope this helps! |
