Marble lovers...I don't know if it is true, but...

Bedrock International is saying on their new website that they carry a new Vermont honed marble that is supposed to be harder and more stain resistant.

Here is what they say.

Marble from Vermont Quarries This is gorgeous stone that is much harder and less absorbent than other marbles. Perfect for kitchen countertops, the honed finish is easy to clean, stain resistant and elegant to behold. Check the pictures under the Lenexa, KS tab.

I don't know if it is true marble or not. Has anyone else heard of this? Peke

That's what I read about the Vermont Montclair Danby I have in my kitchen and it's not proven to be correct. My stone is soft and very easily stained.

I think many marbles are pretty stain resistant. I certainly tested mine before buying and most were pretty good. Etching? Yep. But stains? nope.

I have a remnant in my yard from my (last kitchen) remodel and after a few years in the dirt under a cherry tree, it'll be a good test--if I can get the bird poop off, I'm using it!
