Cabinet prices relative to each other are what can be expected. Shiloh will be lower, QCCI will be at Christians or higher.
What are you looking for exactly?
Is it being made clear to the KD'S? Are they being made aware of what is needed to land the job? Few worth dealing with give a full written breakdown without a commitment buy should give enough verbal information to make you comfortable you won't go over budget.

Off the top, based on the presentations you describe and your impressions, the only one I would consider in this group is #1. Exclusion here is pretty easy so far, imo. Try to find a couple more.

Exactly. Any of those lines will make an excellent kitchen. The rest is the reputation of the person doing the job, and the rapport that you have with them. You want someone to marry you while you still want to date around, and it just doesn't work that way.

Put a deposit down, and work out the details and revisions with one single KD. No one is going to do more than a cursory estimate and design in the initial stages while you keep shopping around.

As someone who sells Dynsasty/Omega, I have to clear up a few things about the line. :) Unless you are doing one of the very special doors only offered in Omega, you could save at least 10-15% by doing the design in Dynasty, with only a few select ones that are needed to be totally custom, done in Omega.

Second, any cabinet door will have adjustable hinges, and WILL need to be adjusted occasionally. Display doors take a lot of abuse, getting tossed into people's vehicles and bumping around, so it's not surprising that that it could need adjusted. All of them will, at some point.

Third, the paint finishes offered in Omega do have different sheen levels available. But, I've never found that the paint in either Dynasty or Omega to look "plastic". :) I have a whole kitchen in Pearl, and it's a subtle low sheen. Not all all plastic looking. :)

Thank you for all the advice. I have been trying to do my due diligence in order to get the best cabinet line for our situation while finding a designer who I have some rapport with. This has been much harder than I thought it would be. Today I looked at QCCI (around 70k), Premier (high 70s-80), Elmwood (65-70) and Shiloh (60ish). I went back to look at the Greenfield showroom and asked the kd if his estimate of 50k was accurate and he told me it would more likely be around 65k for what I want. I am basically taking a few days to think about it, then I will pick a cabinet/kd out of a hat and go for it. Or maybe I'll let my husband choose,in which case we'll end up with Premier or QCCI.

Melis918- where in CA are you? I can provide some contractor guidance if you're in San Diego. We went through a similar process with very similar results at first.

Nobody will give you much detail until you put $ into the project - it seems like they are all afraid you will take their design and shop it. That's when I settled on our KD/Design-Build company because he gave a very thorough "guestimate" and I felt completely comfortable with him and his reviews/references.

In my case, it was better than I dreamed - the crews were over-the-top awesome. That's what you really need to work on finding - even more than a brand of cabinets - an installer/builder who is meticulous. My $.02 :)
