We are upgrading our small kitchen, it faces south, has windows and French door on the south side. We have chosen medium oak cabinets, and I have chosen the Emerald Green Pearl which in this case comes out mostly black. Dark, I know, but I plan on using a white backsplash with a colorful border to give some color. My DH is concerned with the darkness because our patio on the south side of the kitchen will be covered.

I think lighting will handle this. What are your opinions? Is this going to be a cave?
