These pulls come with wood screws that would go part of the way into the front of the cabinet drawer. My cabinets are painted with MDF for the center panel. My installer is worried that over time these might loosen, especially in the heavier drawers. He is recommending using a machine screw that would go all the way through the drawer front and cabinet box, and then secured on the back with a tee nut.

Does that seem like a good plan?

My only major issue with it is that I am having trouble finding the screw in chrome, so I might need to use stainless steel. If it is worth the esthetic sacrifice to have a more sturdy set up, I am ok with that.
