Somebody here was just talking about using that in their kitchen... but I can't remember who???

I just watched the video and the look of that granite is amazingly realistic -- I wonder why, though, the big box retailer used a curved front and built in backsplash? Those seem like giveaways and ruin the illusion, seems to me that if illusion of granite is what they're going for they ought to fabricate it as a granite, too., with a squared off edge and no integrated backsplash.

I would presume for ease of DIY installation: Put it in, you're done. No need to worry about adding a splash. And if you don't want that, they can upsell you to a custom installation.
