Personally, I wouldn't invest a lot of $ for the garage...I would get ready made cabs at Ikea/lowes/HD....and an off the shelf laminate counter again from lowes or Home Depot.

Ikea sounds like a great idea. You might also try a Habitat for Humanity Re-store, people donate cabinets when they remodel. Proceeds help the needy, donors get a tax deduction, the material stays out of the landfill, and you get a great deal. win-win-win-win

I'd do Ikea. They have the nice easy-clean interiors, full extension drawers, and a spiffy crisp look.

I'd probably do laminate over Corian unless I was getting a sink--then I might go for the solid surface with undermount sink.

I have IKEA in both my laundry room and garage. (With the white lacquer finish.)
