Can you recommend hand held vacuum for furniture?

Do you have a hand held vacume that does a good job on your furniture? From reviews I've found the Eureka EasyClean Hand-Held Vacuum, 71B..., complaints are mainly about its weight, but I also see most purchase it for steps. My floors are wood including stairs, except for basement which has wall to wall carpeting. I'm having problems with my spine. I have a woman who is cleaning for me every other week, unfortunately she doesn't do the best job, my house is surface clean when she leaves, since I don't think anyone will be a thorough as I want, I clean after she leaves, and touch up as the week goes by.
