I am far from an expert as I am in the process myself of redoing my kitchen but I have seen corner sink cabinet that was 42" and the door was 25 7/16. That's the biggest door I have seen on any cabinet. Seems like once you get past 30" cab all the companies have two doors. I'm guessing there might be too much stress on the hinges from the weight and the door might start to sag?

Also, if you did want to go with one big door you would have to order the cabinet and the door possibly separate depending on the cabinet company.

I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in with proper answers.

Most cabinet manufacturers offer you a choice of a single or two doors on a 24"cabinet. That goes for base and wall cabinets.

I had a large door and always had to lean back to save my beautiful face from a collision. It's not something you're aware of until you read GW, but then it's....well...in your face all the time.

I have a couple of bathroom cabinets with a 24" door front. It is possible.

Thanks, all. I, too, was wondering about the weight. I could use rattan panels in the door. It costs a lot, I think, but there will be only 2 or 3 that would need to match.

It's because wood normally expands and contracts with the change of humidity in the seasons. The larger, wider, doors expand and contract more, which can mean warpage. 24''is the dividing line between single and double doors. I prefer double ones as they do not take up so much room when opened.

I think I would prefer double doors also as they take up less room when opened.
