I totally understand the look that your cabinet maker is giving you because I have been there too. What I actually decided on is a 45 degree bevel as opposed to the curved one in this picture but I hope this can help you :)

I fell in love with a tiered trim along the inside of the door frame. Here is a posting thread, should it be useful.

Thanks Kinsey06 - I think what you ended up getting is exactly what I want. I don't want the detailed edge that's in the picture. I don't want the beaded detail, I just want the bevel.

I'll keep searching the site because I'm almost positive I've seen someone here with it.....this is the site that I "live" on :)

Also look at Brookhaven (by Wood-Mode) in the Colony doorstyle, I believe it is shaker with a slight bevel rather than 90-degrees.

Kinsey 06....what is the color of your cabinets and hardware

Our cabinets are still being made but they will be painted SW Dover White, and as far as hardware goes I'm thinking maybe brushed nickel...but I haven't made a definite decision yet.

We have a little molding strip on around the inside edge. The simple arc really helps cut down on dust accumulation (very different from our bath cabinets that just has the flat edge.) The beaded part is another story.

There is a cabinet door called Park Lane that has beveled shaker frames These carry the entire length of the door and look quite nice (imho). I have them but with a raised panel inside each frame. The panels have the bevel too. If you want to see them I can take some pics for you. The site listed below has an example.
