Custom cabinet warranty?

We are working with a designer whose firm also provides custom cabinets. I asked him what warranty was provided with the cabinets and the response was a "we stand by our work, we will rectify any issue." He says no one has every asked him that before. Based on my research, most cabinet companies do offer warranties of varying lengths. Has anyone dealt with this issue? I have seen the cabinets in other kitchens and don't doubt the quality of the product, but things can go wrong and products can fail...

I wondered about this issue also and asked about it in the thread linked below. I have no official cab warranty either, but know that my local custom maker stands behind his work also.
