Post form laminates come standard 25 1/2" though.
All other tops that are template should be based on-face of cabinet plus overhang. So a 1-1/2" overhang is a nominal 25-1/2 but the overhand should be consistant so in your case 25 3/4"
I use a 2" overhang if space allows.

Are you saying your counters are already installed or this is what you anticipate?

I have standard depth cabinets with full overlay doors/drawers. From the face of the cabinet to the edge of the counter it is 1.5". From the front of the drawer to the edge of the counter there is .5". I think you will have more over hang than 1/4 " I don't really have things dripping off my counters. Drips on the cabinets come from moving things from the island to the perimeter and such.

We have granite countertops with overlay doors. The sheet from when we ordered the counters says 26" but perhaps they rounded up when they wrote it down and it got fabricated at the standard 25 1/2. Unfortunately this was not something I even thought of at the time.

I don't have a ton of things dripping off of my counters either but I feel like the overhang should be more than it is. With solid surface counters and overlay doors is it still typical to have a 25 1/2" depth?

There can be trade-offs with the way a slide in range fits with a 2" overhang that doesn't happen with 1 1 /2".

Some people determine this based on looks. I like the way it looks and would not want it deeper. Some may want more overhang or less for a more streamlined look. We talked to 5 or more granite places and they all did 1.5" overhang unless you specified something else.

When we had our kitchen counters done 3 years ago, they asked if we had a specific overhang we wanted. I hadn't researched that question, so I asked them, "What's standard?" They gave me a number, which I've long since forgotten, but I went and measured and the overhang is 5/8". In the bathroom which was done about a month ago, "standard" seems to be 1/2". Cabinetry in both places is frameless, full overlay.

Tre- slide ins are always a special case, present issues with cabinets and some with stone thickness too, I avoid /discourage them.
