Me too ! I mean I've got the same dilemma. I'm even considering a drop in just to save the extra space that is required for undermount. I'll be following this thread closely.im sure there will be loads of info from the great people here at GW.

The majority of the sinks for a 30" base are 24-25", but Blanco makes a stainless steel single basin, the Stellar Large model # 441024 that fit easily in my 30" base.

There are some other options in SS -- where the sink itself is 27-28" but the flange takes it to 30", if you are going the notch the cabinet route.

There are other makers of the silgranite-type sink too, maybe one of them has a workable size.

I do wish Blanco made a few additional sink sizes in silgranit. I had to settle for a slightly smaller prep sink than I would have ideally chosen, but the choices were either slightly too small, or much too large. I decided I REALLY REALLY wanted Blanco's silgranit so I compromised. I'm very happy I did as I love silgranit sinks more than I thought possible to love a sink. IMHO, after years of reading and research, I would not choose another composite sink brand.

You're correct that sink bases can be notched. My prep sink base cab was because, having custom cabs, I was very specific with my cab maker as to which sink I wanted to fit in there. He made it work. You can't, however, fit a 36" sink in a 30" base. And for anyone else reading this, choose your sink first and then make sure you design your kitchen to accomdate the appropriately sized sink base. This is not a dig at you, OP. :)

In planning my kitchen reno, I thought at first that we might only have room for a 30" or 33" sink base and had bookmarked the Blanco Precis as a possibility.

It's 29" and says it's meant for a 33" base (except on the Canadian version of Blanco's website, which says 30"!), but you might be able to make it work in a 30.

I have the single Karran undermount in my 30" base and I love, love it! Yes, they did have to cut out the sides of the cabinet to make it fit, but it is soo worth it!! Mine is the Q-340 sink
