I could be wrong. Forgive me if I am terribly confused.
It has been a while since I was on GW. I pop in and out
when I have some free time. Here are some images I happen
to have of wood counters. Maybe they can help you.
I am certain two different woods will be lovely. Especially
the wood on the floor and the wood on the counter.

Boxerpups has illustrated your quest perfectly so maybe you already have the idea. We have dark perimeter and main island and a walnut top on a smaller outer island, and red oak flooring. IMO, it doesn't clash. I think different woods can look striking when used together, but also I don't see the two as being connected enough to need to be close in color, texture, or any other aspect. I have some elements that match the color of the counter, but the floor is just the floor in my eyes; it doesn't seem to need to match anything. Also, it seems to add a warm element among all the cool colors. That's just me, but I do think bp's pictures make the same point.
