Where did you get your rug for your new kitchen?

After installing hardwood floor in our kitchen reno, we knew we needed to get a rug to go under the table and chairs. We wanted something nice, but not too nice price-wise: I didn't want to get crazy every time someone dropped or spilled something on the rug. We looked at several stores, then happened to notice some asian-inspired rugs at Costco. One fit the bill for looks and size perfectly. It's washable, and if it gets ruined I won't feel bad about replacing it (<$200).

The funny part is that many people have complimented us on our rug, and have commented on putting an "expensive" rug in our kitchen! We're happy to tell them that we got it at the "fine" rug department at Costco.

Used/antique Iranian rugs on ebay. A real bargain bin, if your eye can sort through the real garbage.

This one was about $300 with freight. Odd-size rugs like this one are bigger bargains, this is 5x11.

We left the bare hardwood under our dining table but we did just purchase a 30" by 72" all weather rug from Dash & Albert for the work area. Love it.
