Should we move fridge?

We're in the planning stages of a partial remodel. The main thing we want to change is the pink laminate countertops. But also thinking that moving the fridge would improve things.

At the moment, the fridge is in the middle of the counter.

If we move it to the wall it would open the kitchen up, give us more useable counterspace (we'll move the MW) and look more pleasing.

Only con that I can see is that it would make it difficult to open the fridge door all the way. That would only be an issue if/when we have to take a draw out to clean. At the moment this is so infrequent that I don't want it to be the deciding factor of where to put the fridge but maybe I'm overlooking other issues.

Much better against the wall, adds much needed landing space for range and refer.
But I would build it out a couple inches with a strip of wood, so you can open the door all the way...

I like it further over but not right against the wall. Maybe you could put a narrow pantry cabinet there or something.

I would not like it next to the wall it makes it hard to put certain things in it. We have that problem now. You might consider a different refrigerator that opens the other way. Then you have it next to the wall.

Yes the fridge looks much more correct beside the wall.

A rolling canned goods storage unit would fit right there, plus solve the frig door problem. Something like this...

It LOOKS better against the wall, but I wouldn't suggest putting it there. As others suggested, you need to have something between the wall & the fridge so that it can be fully functional.
