faucet hole cover

I changed my faucet out a while back. I have a generic hole cover over the hole. I have Silestone Capri Limestone counter top. Can I make a plug out of a spare piece of counter? Has anyone ever done this or have had it done before. I don't want to add any other fixtures to my sink.

I think the problem will be having a hole saw that will give you the right side plug. Then it would have to be epoxied in place. Besides a blank cover, you could install a soap dispenser, disposer air switch, filtered water faucet, or instant hot water dispenser.
