| After putting the kitchen decisions aside for awhile, I've been thinking about how to pull the aesthetics together.
The one wall that will be on "display" will have a 36" glass/aluminum vent in the middle, two 36" windows on either side and then cabinets on both ends. One alternative for the few upper cabinets that we were going to use was to use a 12" black cabinet next to a 18" frosted aluminum cabinet. I've used the IKEA to mock it up and it seems nice but I've yet to see any "real" pictures of this. I see a lot of pics with no windows when using black cabinets. The frosted ones are often used it seems to give a sense of a window. We even considered eliminating the windows but we ultimately decided we want the natural light. If you have pictures with something close to this type of wall arrangement with black and aluminum elements, I'd really appreciate it. Even if you have a picture with just black cabinets with this arrangement would be good. |

| I'm trying to find some things. These may show some or all of the elements you need. Some of the frosted cabinets may or may not be aluminum. I don't think you can ever have enough natural light. I wouldn't eliminate the windows.
hood between windows with cabs on outside. Not black though: While these didn't combine everything you needed in one photo, I think it shows that the frosted glass and the windows gives a different look and will read differently in the room. I think what you're picturing will work just fine. |

| Thanks Babs for the pics. The 1st one gives me some indication of what it would look like and I can't say I really like the look. From that pic alone, I don't think I would do the aluminum. |
