Hi All,
I haven't been here in a long, long time. I just wanted to pop in and share a lucky find. My problem is that my kitchen sponges and dish brushes usually sit on the counter next to or on the bottom of the sink. Despite trying various suction cup baskets, nothing worked to my satisfaction. I have a Rev-a-Shelf filler pull-out between my sink & dishwasher. I can't remember the size of the pull out, but I think it's for the 9" base. The actual measurement is 6 5/8". I use it to store cleaning supplies. I noticed that there are several inches of dead space both above the pull out and just below the top rails. I started looking for something useful I could install that would help me use this space. I found that the Ikea Boholmen colander ($2.99) fits perfectly onto the top rails. It has a lip that allows it rest on the rails while the shallow basket fits inside. It's a cheap solution to my problem and I couldn't be happier!

That is perfect! I love that little Ikea colander. I use for the same thing, but across the top of my sink.

What great solutions using the same item!

We're going from a 2 bowl to a single bowl and I've been wondering where we would hang the d1sh rag. Hubby suggested hanging it on the faucet but that won't work well since we're going from a pull-out to a pull-down faucet. Plus I think it would look tacky.

I'm definitely putting this colander on my shopping list. Thank you!

Super tip! I'm getting a pull out next to the sink for my cookie sheets. I'm thinking I might need this little tray on top too. Thanks!

Be aware that this might not work on the cookie sheet version. I have the cutting board/aluminum foil version on the right side of my sink, but there are no top rails on the unit as it is meant to be loaded from the top. That being said, there is a bunch of dead space above it. You could attach some cleats to the sides of the cabinet and have a mini slide out. I'm considering doing this to eek out a little more storage.

Genius!

I have this too, love it! I use it a lot as a dish drainer when I've washed just a couple of items. Ikea also sells some more expensive versions in different sizes and material.
