| I am thinking about the what I will be willing to have on my countertops after the kitchen is done and I still have two weeks to go before demo! I have concluded that I will keep paper towels under the sink since I don't use them that much.
But what suddenly popped into my head was the way my mother stored paper towels in the house I grew up in and it occurred to me that I have not seen this done anywhere but maybe I don't get out that much.... Anyway, she had a stainless steel holder with a drop-down door (like an oven door) installed into the wall over the sink on the backsplash so that the door of the holder was pretty flush with the backsplash. It does involve cutting out the wall behind the sink a bit but for those that can do it, this provides a really convenient and attractive paper towel storage solution. |

| One thing to keep in mind, though--in your mother's day paper towel rolls were almost certainly much narrower than the big double rolls you see everywhere today. You'd need a lot more space back there now than she did back then. |

| My mom had the same thing and yes it would not fit the larger rolls. My mom thought I should put this in my kitchen and the realized the PTs would not fit... Great memories |

| They still make them, mostly for outdoor kitchens. |
