Leathered Black Pearl with Slate Floor?

So, kitchen is finally coming together. The floors are bengal slate tile, which we love, but which has a lot of variation. Cabinets are maple, and will be stained a caramel color. We're thinking black pearl, leathered, for the countertops. Husband is not sure about the leathered finish. Can you share your photos of black pearl leathered to convince him?
