I just did the same thing. I bought the Expand-A-Drawer Cutlery Tray and the Expand-A-Drawer Utensil Tray as well as Solid EZ Liner shelf and drawer liner, all from The Container Store. What a difference these things have made even though my renovation is still 2 weeks off.

I made my own drawer organizers, with 4"x1/4" aspen boards from the lumber yard, and brackets from Lee Valley. It took me about an hour to do the utensil drawer (shown) and flatware drawer.

A year later, this drawer looks just as tidy as in the photo, because each space is the right size.

I made mine, as well. I used clear construction adhesive instead of the plastic brackets. I could never find a pre made organizer that seemed to fit my drawers well, so DIY worked best for me.

If you are not handy, some of the Ikea inserts (plain white plastic) worked well for some of my organization. I just love the homemade wood inserts pictured above!

I am as far from handy as it gets, plus I live in an apartment now, so there's noplace to do DIY projects. Anyway, just wanted to say after many attempts, I found these IKEA spice "racks" and they are perfect! I keep them in a wide shallow drawer across from the cooktop (I'd put them next to the cooktop if I had a similar drawer, but I don't). They lie flat, and the squiggles keep the jars from moving around in the drawer. I have 3 of them (6 rows) and could use a couple more!

Keep an eye out for special deals from Costco and Sams Club. I got a really good sized Bamboo organizer that was a 2-pack for less than $18.00. They had the removable dividers to custom fit your drawers and the bottom was lined in cork. The quality was outstanding!!! I also purchased some of the acrylic organizers in a package deal for around $16.00. I found the same brand in other stores, but they were individual priced and much higher. When you see a one time buy at these stores, and contemplate if you need them...I would purchase because once they are gone they are gone...:)
