We put a bullnose at that seam, if that helps any. We wanted to match the original window/door trim in the house. Bullnosed a 1"x1/2" piece of wood and mitered it around corners, then placed the flat board above/behind it so that any small irregularities don't show from below. I can hunt down closeup photos if you want them, but here's one shot:

Wow that looks fabulous! I'll show your photo to DH, maybe it will motivate him. So you didn't put up the board and then cover the seam with the trim. You put up the trim (bullnose) first?

Circus your kitchen is just gorgeous!! I love the tile colors with the rich cherry color. And your stove knobs match the tile! Love the way you hid what sometimes can be an eye sore . . . namely the vent hood! You made it into a work of art

Judy - please revel in the fact of your gorgeous kitchen and being 99% done. We have been stuck at a much lower number with no end in sight.... I know the 1% may seem big to you, but when I see pix of your kitchen, I only see the 99%...
One thing you may have that has gotten you further than us, is you can promise to sleep with your contractor when it is completed!

Circuspeanut that looks great! I was planning on doing the same crown molding as is on my ceiling, but I love yours (I think I just has a design change)!

We did something similar to circuspeanut, but we thought our ceiling was too wavy to put crown up at the very top.

Clueless your cabinets are beautiful! What kind of wood is that? Do you have finished photos or are you still in mid remodel?

Oh and dianalo, you crack me up : ) Just so you know, my DH wasn't our main contractor. I wonder what our main (hired) contractor would think of what you are proposing, lol. I wonder what my DH would think!
