I've read the earlier posts - mostly in 2008 - about Showplace Cabinets located in South Dakota, and they were not good. However, since it's been three years or so, and I like the look of their cabinets, I thought I'd check to see if anyone has had experience with them lately. What do ya'll have to say about them in 2011?

Showplace did not offer maple cabinets in the stain that I wanted, which Kraftmaid calls "chestnut". Basically, it's sort of like cherry what cherry looks like. They also don't have very many glass front cabinet choices.

I did get a bid from Showplace, and I liked the cabinetry, but ultimately went with custom. Main reason was they were wickedly expensive. Other reasons were I didn't like the interior, and it was a huge upgrade for wood interior. I did not want melamine. And could not get the stain color I wanted. The KD was rather new, and she always had to "research" any question I asked her. But that is no reflection on Showplace cabinetry itself.
