There isn't a faucet made that can't be seen in an island configuration. The least prominent type of faucet is the old fashioned double handle type faucet. It's the least functional type and looks completely wrong with any farm sink.

The next least tallest would be a pullout type faucet rather than a pull down. It's a more functional choice, and might be your compromise between height and usability.

The pulldowns are the tallest, but they provide the heft that can counterbalance the heft of the farm sink. Since you're going to see the faucet no matter what, it's sometimes best to just go bold.

Another choice for bold, but more traditional look, would be a bridge faucet. That also balances the heft of a large farm sink.

Thank you so much for your help. I had not taken into account the heft of the sink. My husband is disabled so I have been looking for a faucet with just one handle at the top. The second picture looks promising. I did not know how difficult it is to try to pick out a faucet.

We decided to give-up our plans to have a second Kohler Karbon faucet at the island because of size. Instead we got a beautiful Kohler independent side spray, that functions like a faucet. It can be used sitting in place, and it does pull out to use like a sprayer.

Thank you so much for responding. We are in the middle of a remodel to make the house more wheelchair friendly. I am stuck on a faucet. It is sooo frustrating.

I will just link to another thread showing Donaleen's beautiful Whitehaven sink and Hansgrohe Allegro E faucet. Love the clean look, love Donaleen's mix of tradtional and modern, and love that the faucet doesn't have nooks and crannies for water minerals to get into.
