DCS 30" 4 Burner vs. 30" Capital Connoisseurian

Hiya,

We are renovating a brownstone in Brooklyn and are redoing our kitchen completely. We are building an island in the center of the kitchen which will be where we want to put a 30" Duel range/oven.

We've are really interested in DSC and Capitol. for both performance and stylish looks (Bluestar just doesn't look like what we want.) What's everyone's opinion?

Does DCS make a 4 burner range - I thought they only made 5 burner 30" ranges. I have a 12-year old DCS all gas and am still very pleased with it. One big difference between the DCS and the Capital is that the DCS has sealed dual stacked burners and the Capital has open burners. Many on this forum favor open burners but I'm pleased with the sealed burners particularly the very low simmer I can achieve.

An important issue is that both ranges require good ventilation - probably 600 CFMs. Are you planning an island hood over the range? You might want to consider putting the range against an outside wall - you'll have more, less expensive options for venting.
