Hi, I had to have a molding on the bottom of my cabinets for the same reason. In the picture, you can see it on my wall cabinets, especially the one on the right. My kitchen is now 6 year old and I still love it.

You can have a light rail that looks like a slight extension of the cabinet bottom, without fuss. Sorry I don't have a better pic of ours, but this shows what I mean fairly well...

It's pretty simple, and you can only really notice that it's an add on if you look at it from the side. From the front, the edge lines up with the cabinet door, so it's really not noticeable at all. Could something like this work for you?

This isn't the most exemplary photo, but I used simple half-round nosing under my cabinets. It was enough to conceal the Seagull Ambience linear xenon.

Ask your KD to order a matching light rail from the cabinet manufacturer. Here is what mine looks like...

Our cabinets are frameless so they have no recess. We also were going for very simple lines so we went with the simplest molding possible.

Here's the light rail molding we used -- very simple, but the beading repeats the bead around the cabinet door, so it almost seems like one continuous piece. Very inobtrusive.
