Ok, I know Im jumping the gun and should wait until the island trim is finished, the walls are completely painted, my bar stools come in and the back splash is in, but I can't wait a second longer!!!

I found this amazing forum 1/2 way into our kitchen facelift. It has been so helpful reading GW and all your posts. My husband says, "are you looking at kitchen porn again??!!" It is quite addicting:)

Perimeter cabinets- painted creamy white

Espresso Island- new Thomasville cabinets from Home Depot - LOVE the toe kick drawers, I highly recommend !!

Wolf 4 burner range

viking counter depth fridge- got a this for quite a deal as it was a floor model

Wall oven located in isalnd- Dacor- BIGGEST deal of all- it was a floor model too and because it is grey glass and not stainless it wasn't selling. II think in my dark espresso island it looks great. $3300 oven for $650!! whooo, hoo!

faucet by Jado

sink- Kohler apron front sink

Knobs- LOVE these, their square clear glass

Counters- Danby Mountain White marble

I'll post more when it is complete but for now here it is!

WOW WOW WOW I get to be the first to say...........

    It looks FANTASTIC!

Did you have your cabinets painted professionally? They look spectacular. Do you know the color?

Love your knobs, hardware, and from one who is constantly looking for *DEALS* I am very IMPRESSED! It makes it just that much sweeter.
I know I have more questions, but wanted to congratulate you quickly.
    Wow.

I love your dining chairs, do you mind telling where they are from?

And, the color of your mudroom and family room walls. They're lovely.
Your mudroom looks really nice as well. Did you redo it too?

Thanks! The mud room color is Sherwin Williams Independent Gold- you have to get a swatch because its defiantly not 'gold". My family room is Cotton Wood by Ralph Lauren (I had it color matched at Home depot).

oops I forgot my chairs.... do you mean my dining room parson chairs or my kitchen wood chairs? My dr chairs are really old Ashley parson chairs.. The kitchen chairs and table are Cost Plus World market and look like reclaimed wood but Im sure they're not because they weren't that expensive.

I thought your before kitchen was pretty nice, but WOW, your after is really grand. Raising the cabinet over the sink made a huge difference, well, that and the marble. It is gorgeous.

I saw your befores and thought--that's a nice kitchen. Then I saw those Danby counters and all reason was swept away. The colors you selected to go with them all make sense.

    Great job.

Very nicely done! Everything looks wonderful, especially that Danby White!!!! I like how you incorporated the "deal" oven in the espresso island -- it looks seamless! Enjoy!

Goes to show you, when you have good bones in the kitchen, and the vision, transformations like this are wonderful! I wish we were in that boat...had to tear it all down and start from scratch!

Gorgeous!!! Your kitchen is so peaceful and the finishes are so polished yet comfortable! I'm jealous of the mudroom.

Thank you for the kind comments. The paint we are using in the kitchen (not done as you can see) is BM Baltic Gray. The family room right now is Cotton Wood by Ralph Lauren but Im thinking of changing it to BM Benninton Gray. Not sure the Cotton Wood goes with the Baltic gray. Warm vs cool? Im not good with paint so I may just live with it for a while plus my husband will KILL me if I spring on him that NOW I think we should repaint the whole first floor to go with the new kitchen. Beautiful Kitchen it is exactly what I would like to do.

Did you paint your cabinets? I have custom red oak cabinets from the 1980's. I know they are made very well all solid oak with the shelving that pulls out like drawers. I would like to have my cabinets professionally refinished in a painted white finish. Last week we brought one of the doors as a sample to a cabinetmaker/refinisher & he said you can not paint oak. He also said that the quality of the cabinets are so good that they could not be replicated now. He said he could either stain them another color or whitewash them. I am hoping he is wrong & I can find someone to do a great job refinishing them in a white paint finish.

enright5! Beautiful kitchen! I love the color of your cabinets and the dark colored island! Can you share the colors or formula for both the white and dark cabinets? This is the look we are going for in our kitchen. Stunning countertops!

enright, I am curious, are you ok with the marble after a year of use? I am in the identical process you were in trying to sort out if I can live with marble etching vs resilient more artificial looking quartz torquay or lagoon. I have marble in my upstairs bathroom and the etching makes me nuts! No staining, just etches everywhere no matter how careful I have been. I finally gave up being careful because it didn't seem to make a difference. I would love the marble like you used, but I don't see myself adjusting to the etching.

Love the seating area!! Super cozy and really nice use of the bay window.

I love the lights in the cupboards. I really wanted that but have yet to actually do it on any of my remodels. I must say it really makes a difference.

Is oven in the island a micro too or do you have one tucked away somewhere else? Great great deal!!!

I'm so glad your 2012 reveal popped up. It's just lovely. Gorgeous Danby marble. Love the black island , glass cabinets & your sink/faucet. Your choices make it look like totally brand new kitchen. Love it!
