Yes, but it really becomes one of those, "I don't even notice it anymore" type of thing.

FWIW, we have a black granite and our U/C lights are the Kichler Linnear Lights (lampholders/bulbs that clip into a track. We made sure to use the black tracks, wiring, lampholders, and clips (thanks to another GW'ers suggestion!) to minimize what would show in the reflection.

Thanks. I understand that xenon are really hot - are these hot to the touch? How expensive are they in comparison to puck lights.

The bulbs do get hot (although I think all bulbs are when they've been on for awhile). I never considered puck lights (our KD steered us away from them, though I don't recall why). We liked the look of the linnear lighting that other GW'ers showed in pics on this forum. Some other brands that have linnear lighting are Seagull and I think Juno (?).

The price for our U/C's was included in the estimate/bill from the electrician for the entire kitchen job.
