Sorry the first pic is small.

Beautiful. Owners must not have cats or kids. My cats and kids would have a field day with those puddled fabric cab "doors". Hide and seek, ghost in the closet, etc. Plus, I'd never be able to keep them clean!

Good point breezy! I have dogs and the fabric would be a hairball collection!

And cats. 4.. I swoon over that sideboard piece. I'm saving this picture. Does "unfitted" also mean "eclectic"?

No, unfitted means no built-in cabinetry, just case goods for storage and free-standing working surfaces, even if they are placed against walls. L.

Cann you stir from that comfy chair?

I have an unfitted kitchen and would love some extra room for a comfy arm chair, esp. in the pantry area near the window. On the back porch, I keep a wicker chair which I admit I have to drag in and out whenever it rains; instead of taking it down to the shed each time, I sometimes pull it into the kitchen. I love how it looks! but too difficult to navigate around it on a long term basis. Thanks for sharing the photo.

I think that kitchen is not just unfitted, but part of the European trend of the invisible kitchen, a particular favorite in small homes where the entire public area is one space. Everything is done up to a high level of finish, and often the appliances, even ovens, disappear behind doors. Most of these invisible kitchens are very modern, so it's good to see one done in a traditional style. However, I am not grooving on the professional appliances sitting in the middle of the living room. Either their finish level should be brought up or there should be greater visual separation from rest of the space.
