| Hi all,
I'm looking for good quality wood beadboard for the kitchen
I stopped by the local HD, menards, lowes and there just wasn't any selection. In fact, Lowes just had one option. The question for today is where does one shop for beadboard? Big C lumber is another option around here but I haven't been able to get there yet. TIA, Susan |

| I found mine by finding local lumber mills online and calling to ask if they had it/made it. Found nice white oak beadboard at a VERY reasonable price at a mill in Hagarstown, MD. that way. As an aside...my RTSOG (rotten, thieving sack of garbage) general contractor complained he couldn't find it....I think that's because his idea of looking was to go to Home Depot. |

| Thanks Melissa! I'll google lumbar mills. Thanks for the tip. susan |

| We got our AZEK for the bathroom at Roof Center if you have one of those. I think 84 Lumber might also sell it. |

| thanks senator13... I googled and there is an 84 lumber near by so I will give them a call. Susan |

| Definitely contact all the local mills and individually-owned lumber yards in your area. I've been repeatedly surprised at how reasonable good-quality woodwork can be, compared to the Chinese cruft at the big box stores. |

| Will it be painted? Even if you think knot holes won't matter if the boards will be painted, consider bleed thru issues - it will happen unless you get boards with as few as possible knot holes and/or prime with a shellac based primer. I speak from experience. :( at least when it came to putting it up in the kitchen I had already experienced the nightmare of orange spots all over my nicely painted white trim and baseboard in the bedroom. |
