Kitchen Wall Paint

I have a dilemma with my wife. We are painting the cabinets Vermont Cream or Swiss Coffee (similar color)

However, we cannot agree on the wall color. She wants Caramel Swirl (brownish) and I want Graham Cracker Crust (orange/rust).

She likes the Caramel as she thinks it goes with the couch better and works well with the ancillary colors in the our greenish granite.

I think the Graham goes well with our slate floor, also works well with the granite, our copper sink, will pop and will be more bold against the white cabinets. I am not sure that either color works that well with the couch.

I actually would have preferred to stick with the green that we already have as there are very few places that the granite will be next to the paint. But LOML is intent on changing the color.

Let me know what you all think. Thanks in advance for your replies. Much appreciated.

It's hard to say with the cabinets not painted yet, but I think you would get a better feel if you painted much larger test areas - more like 3' x 3', at least. Sample paint is cheap!

It looks like you will have a band of red/orange around the top of your kitchen with either of the colors. I would paint the cabinets first and address the wall color later.

I would paint the cabinets first and then address the wall color as it is too difficult to tell right now as paint reflects colors in the room.

I like your original gray green color best with everything going on and I say this as one of the biggest fans of orange and brown.

I like the orange. Have you tried using the Sherwin Williams web site or another site to see how different colors work?

There appears to be a light tan color in your granite. What if you use that for the walls? It might go better with your couch too. Neither of the colors you're choosing from seems to coordinate with the couch. I also like the original gray green color, although I see that it could be too much like the granite.

I agree with Juliet11, that maybe the beige in the granite will also go well with the beige in your sofa and not be overpowering to the room.

I think both colors are harsh with your soft toned counters. On my screen, your sofa appears to be reddish and I don't care for it with the orange / rust paint color.

I also like the color you currently have on the walls.
