moisture rings on cabinet shelves

Posted by blakekr (My Page) on

I have some (what I assume) are moisture rings and damage on some cabinet shelves. The marks are all the same purplish color like this. I am trying to research if there is anything to remove or even improve these marks, but for some reason I can't find any information on it at all. I probably don't have the right search terms, I'm not sure what these boards are made of. They have a kind of particle board interior and a sort of plastic-wood veneer on the parts meant to show.

Any thoughts on search terms or even trying to remove the marks?

Not gonna be removable. Line your shelves.

Are these new? The rings remind me of the rings in our kitchen cabinets after a fire many yrs ago from smoke damage.

I don't know how old they are, but they are across several different shelves and all the exact same "bruise" color so I'm guessing they're moisture. I don't think there's been any smoke damage.

Try a little soft scrub right out of the container, give it a light scrub and rinse with a little water and see what you get..
