Deko tile reviews

Has anyone in this forum bought online from Deko tile? I'm a newbie at tiling and I'm doing my kitchen backsplash. I've decided to use Calacatta Gold subway tiles (honed or polished is still up in the air). Their prices are higher than buildersdepotdirect, but I was very happy with the quality of the samples and they come on a mesh backing, which seems helpful for someone with no experience at this.

Feedback is appreciated!

Hi, I think I can help. I got samples from deko tile when we were redoing 3 bathrooms, they were slow to come, so expensive for this teeny tiny sample on two marbles told me they had them in stock then when I was ready to order, they had none left! Then they told me calcuatta is very hard to find and if I found good stone to let them know...strange huh? Well through one of the bloggers i communicate with gave me a fantastic source and I could not have been happier with the GORGEOUS calcutta gold material I ordered, cut tile and chair rails and pencil moldings. What is your email address? I will send information your way.

I too am looking for some gorgeous Calacatta Gold subway tiles--probably 2x4 polished, if I can find them. Any suggestions on a good source?

I would not give out personal info. Even just email. Maybe I am paranoid, but it seems off a bit. Anyway, here is a link that may help.

Here is a link that might be useful: calcatta

I actually ordered Negro Marquina tile from Deko about 4 weeks ago. They came within one week, and were packaged really well. I knew what I wanted so I didn't have to mess with samples. They were great for me.

Just a word of CAUTION about dealing with Deko Tile. Our experience started out fine - customer service representative Tiffani wanted to help us in anyway she could. But once the bill was paid that helpful customer service went out the window. We needed to return some border tile that we felt didn't match the floor tile and we live only one state away, but she insisted we return it in 7 days to get credit. What would another week or two have mattered? Again CAUTION!!! The carrara basketweave floor tiles and the "matching" border tiles are not the same size ( 1/4 inch off - very noticeable) or the same coloring ( a lot more gray in the border).

We just spent over a $ 1000.00. I won't deal with them again because of the poor customer service once they had our money.

If you are looking for a quality carrara basketweave, check out Builder Depot. High quality, tiles in 12x12 sheets are the same size as the matching border tiles. The colors are consistent as well as the tile size - unlike Dekotile. Sure wish we would have found Builder Depot first.

Just to add to any one thinking of using DeKo Tile. Don't. I received 40 sheets of tile and only 14 of them were without damage. I am still in discussion with them because they think I should pay for shipping to return the bad tiles to them. First it was take some pictures, then we need an accurate count, then take more pictures. That is where I am after 1 week of dealings with them.

We ordered 45sqft. of glass tiles and were told that up to 5% of them might arrive broken. In fact, 20% were broken, so we had to order more in a hurry to complete the job. We paid almost $200 for 2nd day air shipping, but the new tiles took a week to arrive. We have contacted the company numerous times to ask for a refund of the priority shipping charge, and they always say they will get back to us, but never do. Their tile is beautiful, but their customer service is ugly. My advice is to buy elsewhere if you can.
